History of Postal Distribution by Irish Bible Ministries

    Background To Irish Bible Ministries
For over twenty years Irish Bible Ministries has been involved in an annual six-monthly team outreach programme in the Republic of Ireland. We are greatly encouraged that many people have received literature through our personal outreach work and also as a result of our postal distribution by the Irish Postal Service, An Post. Many people, from all sections of the community, have also been blessed and encouraged through our Gospel Evenings in a number of counties in Ireland. Many have requested prayer and others have been challenged and blessed. We have been encouraged to meet people in whose lives it is clear the Holy Spirit is working, to see people coming to know the Lord and to see evidence of changed lives.

    Postal Distribution
For many years team outreach workers have engaged in sharing the Gospel with people and home-to-home visitation in Counties Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, Roscommon, Mayo and Tipperary. Their awareness of the great need in Ireland to reach people in many remote and rural areas with the Gospel resulted in the decision to pay An Post to distribute Gospel literature to homes in Ireland. In Irish Bible Ministries our first venture in postal distribution by An Post of booklets entitled No Longer Hoping to 1.79 million homes in the Republic of Ireland began in 2012 and continued until 2015. The booklet, No Longer Hoping, is written by Mr Dick Keogh who, with his wife Mary, lives in County Tipperary.

Irish Bible Ministries began a second distribution of booklets entitled Hope in a Troubled World in July 2017 and these booklets were distributed to 663 500 homes in Counties Clare, Cork, Galway, Kerry, Laois, Offaly, Sligo, Mayo, Leitrim, Tipperary and Limerick. There are therefore a further 1.13 million homes which we desire to reach with the Gospel by continuing the distribution of Hope in a Troubled World and thus completing the distribution of the booklets to the whole of the Republic of Ireland.

From 22 to 26 July 2019 our plan is that Hope in a Troubled World booklets will be distributed by An Post to half a million homes in Monaghan, Cavan, part of Donegal, Louth, Roscommon, Longford, Meath, Westmeath, Kildare, Kilkenny, Wicklow, Carlow, Wexford, Waterford and part of Dublin.

The Booklet, Hope In A Troubled World
This booklet, also written by Dick Keogh, brings hope to people facing trials and problems and points them to God who can bring them true peace as they come to Him in sincere repentance and faith. Each booklet contains a reply slip which interested people can cut out and request Bibles, New Testaments and other booklets which interest them. Reply slips can then be sent to Dick and Mary Keogh at PO Box 15, Thurles, Co Tipperary. People can also fill in the reply slip requesting Bibles, New Testaments and other booklets which can be sent to Irish Bible Ministries, PO Box 14, Lifford, Co Donegal.

Since the distribution of the two booklets we have received many encouraging responses. We praise God that to date 2000 people have returned reply slips requesting Bibles and other literature.

    Our Vision
Our vision is to reach the people of Ireland with the Gospel. We believe that making the booklet, Hope in a Troubled World, available to people in the Republic of Ireland will help them to clearly understand the way of salvation. Ultimately our vision and prayer is that people will realise their need of salvation and be born again.

    Our Commitment
Our commitment is to do all we can and use every means we can to bring to people the life-changing message of the Gospel. We thank God for answered prayer and for His faithfulness.
